My Mission Statement
To guide people towards an increased awareness of themselves in their body and help them regain and maintain their optimal state of health.
Caryn Seniscal received a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice DO(MP), in 2004, from the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto. Caryn’s thesis was written on, “A comparison of selected osteopathic treatment and relaxation exercises for patients with headaches.” An article based on the thesis research, co-authored by Caryn, was published in September, 2006, in the internationally renowned Headache Journal. Caryn is an active member of the Society for the Promotion of Manual Practice Osteopathy (SPMPO) in British Columbia: www.osteopathybc.ca.
Caryn moved to Vancouver in 2006 to start a new manual osteopathy practice. In 2008, Caryn opened the Vancouver Osteopathy Centre in Kitsilano with a business partner. This is a beautiful, friendly clinic with comfortable treatment rooms located in a wonderful neighbourhood. Kitsilano has a real community feel and everything is at your fingertips. If you have the time, enjoy the book stores, clothing stores, cafes and be sure to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies at the various stands. I moved to Vancouver to be closer to nature and experience a different “quality of life”. All kinds of sporty outdoor activities appeal to me or I love just going for a long walk in the forest. I’m also a daily meditator which I find conducive to personal healing.
In 2004-2005, Caryn acted as an assistant teacher in courses on craniosacral therapy and myofascial techniques at Sheridan College in Toronto and the Ontario Medical Education Corporation.
Caryn became a Registered Massage Therapist in 1988, graduating from the highly respected Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto, Ontario. She practiced as a massage therapist for 16 years. Caryn was a teacher of anatomy, massage techniques and treatments at the Sutherland-Chan Teaching School and Clinic and acted as a Student Clinic Supervisor from 1988-92.
